Initiation

The project initiation phase is the critical phase within the project life-cycle. It is also called the project pre-planning phase and about stating the basic characteristics of the project. To successfully initiate a project, the basics steps required must be undertaken to develop a business case, undertake a feasibility study, develop a project charter, project schedule, and identify risks must be performed.

Development

During the development phase, the project manager coordinate schedules, manage resources and assign tasks from the documentation, requirements, and process flows either provided or authored during the development team’s planning phase.

Monitor and Control

The project manager maintains an ongoing audit of each task as they are assigned out to the development or technology teams during the development process. This stage is also called the project audit or control phase and consists of an ongoing project schedule that will be used to accomplish the project requirements set forth during the work breakdown structure.

Testing

During this phase, the project manager assign tasks to the quality assurance team to investigate the quality of the product developed during the development process. The testing phase also provides rigorous testing set forth for an independent view and helps the development team understand the risks, discrepancies, and bugs that mayl inhibit a successful deployment. The overall quality, security, and competency of each product is the focus for every product or service delivered to clients.

Deployment

It is extremely critical to understand how important the project manager role is during the deployment process.
